Guy Forsyth
austin, texas
In a word, Forsyth is amazing --  moving from ukelele, acoustic and electric guitar, blues harp, and a handsaw to heaven only knows what else.  Add incredible vocal stylings on songs ranging from swampy stuff backed by a mean frottoir player, traditional to contemporary blues, to again, heaven only knows what else, and listeners will be confounded that one young man can possess so much  talent.
Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets
featuring Sam Myers
dallas / fort worth, texas
Don O.'s Dallas Fort Worth Blues Pages say they are "at the top of the heap," and Delbert McClinton calls Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets featuring Sam Myers, a Mississippi native, "the best blues band in the country." Funderburgh has won eight W.C. Handy Awards, including the 1994 Award for Blues Band of the Year.
